Seed money feeds agritech

sprout-1cHalf a million little reasons expect to tempt agritech concerns to grow big through the Sprout Accelerator programme.

Drawing from an investment pool of $500,000, eight specially selected New Zealand start-ups will soon follow the lead of one of last year’s recipients, Arepa.

“The mentors and experts I engaged with were great,” the food and beverage company’s CEO and founder, Angus Brown, says. “They backed my thinking and ideas but also challenged me to ensure Arepa was on the right path. They’re passionate about my company and its potential for success which also boosted my confidence.”

Funded by industry partners (as well as the Government, through state-owned-enterprise, Callaghan Innovation), Sprout Accelerator assists entrepreneurs across the primary sector.

Registrations for the Accelerator close November 22; see sproutaccelerator.com for details.
